Transdev, Germany’s largest private public transport provider for rail and bus services, was managing vehicles and staff in a decentralised way across many subsidiaries, using a mix of local systems and even Excel. This created significant manual effort and inconsistent processes across bus, tram, and rail operations. Vendor IVU Traffic Technologies provided its integrated planning software, IVU.suite and IVU.rail, to support a single standard system for resource planning.

IVU Traffic Technologies replaced the heterogeneous legacy landscape with a central, integrated solution that unified planning, dispatching, and optimisation for Transdev’s bus and rail businesses. The new system standardized workflows, simplified integration with peripheral systems through standard interfaces, and enabled central configuration and rollout. As a result, Transdev reduced operating and coordination costs, improved transparency and data flow, and gained enough planning optimization to support and win new transport tenders.
