A IVU Traffic Technologies Case Study
Budapesti Közlekedési Központ (BKK), Budapest’s municipal transport authority, needed to modernize an ageing and highly heterogeneous fleet while improving reliability and passenger service across buses, trams, trolleybuses, ferries, and other vehicles. With traffic disruptions, limited dispatcher visibility, and no dynamic passenger information, BKK turned to IVU Traffic Technologies and its IVU.suite platform to create a more responsive operations environment.
IVU Traffic Technologies implemented a full standard-solution rollout in a single step, equipping around 2,300 vehicles with IVU.box on-board computers and IVU.cockpit software, installing IVU.fleet in a new 32-workspace control center, and deploying IVU.realtime and IVU.control for passenger information and performance analysis. The project modernized BKK’s fleet management in just two years, gave dispatchers far more control, improved operating performance and timetable stability, and increased passenger satisfaction through better real-time information.
