Global Insurance Provider, one of the world’s largest reinsurance companies, was struggling to keep pace with rapid business and technology growth while relying on an aging Risk Line-of-Business application built on Microsoft Access. The legacy system had evolved over 10 years with patches and workarounds, making further expansion increasingly difficult and impractical. iVision was brought in to assess the application’s architecture, usage, and performance, and to help modernize the platform.

iVision re-platformed the Access applications to .NET by designing a modular, extensible framework that could support new application snap-ins. Working iteratively with the client, iVision prioritized mission-critical features, involved end users early, and used User Acceptance Testing and Parallel Testing to validate the new system. The result was a modern, scalable platform that replaced the legacy application, was fully adopted by users, and enabled Global Insurance Provider and iVision to continue building new applications with a consistent user experience and a more manageable IT environment.
