The University of Otago faced fragmented security and discipline reporting across multiple campuses, managing three separate systems for building security, student discipline and incident attendance that made tracking, analysis and oversight difficult. Seeking a unified, subject‑centric platform, the university engaged iView Systems and evaluated the iTrak Incident Reporting and Risk Management Platform (with later additions of iDispatch and Lost & Found modules) to meet its hybrid policing and higher‑education requirements.

iView Systems implemented iTrak to consolidate the three databases into one integrated system with detailed roles and permissions, document logging and customizable reporting. The solution reduced the time staff spend recording incidents and decreased the time required to extract and compile performance and trend reports, improved operational efficiency (including the ability to cross‑reference staff involvement and identify high‑risk areas), and was rolled out across all campuses to streamline security, dispatch and lost‑and‑found workflows.
