James Madison University partnered with IVCi to create a dynamic “classroom of the future” called the X-Lab. The university needed an innovative IT and collaboration solution that would support telepresence, virtual collaboration, and in-room collaboration for students, professors, and remote participants.

IVCi designed a custom AV solution featuring Cisco TelePresence, Cisco Webex, wireless presentation, multi-input collaboration, on-screen annotation, and quad/combined screen capability. The new X-Lab enabled four modes of operation—conferencing, PC, collaboration, and presentation—while improving remote learning and content sharing; IVCi also completed the design and implementation in about 8 weeks, helping JMU create a recruiting tool for students and faculty and a showcase space for visitors.
