IVCi Designs Virtual Lecture Hall for Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business

Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business needed a better way to bring guest speakers, professors, and business leaders into class without losing days to travel and creating scheduling conflicts. To solve this, Fuqua worked with IVCi and Cisco TelePresence technology to create a more efficient, high-quality way for students to interact with remote experts.

IVCi designed and installed a custom “virtual lecture hall” with three large displays, six 1080p cameras, document cameras, remote student viewing screens, and 66 push-to-talk microphones, all controlled through a simple touch-panel interface. The result was a dual-purpose classroom that supports both traditional lectures and immersive telepresence sessions, letting Fuqua connect students with leaders around the world in real time and expand the experience across its global campuses.
