A IVCi Case Study

GE Installs Groundbreaking Cisco Telepresence Room

GE, a global company with major training and meeting needs centered at its Crotonville, New York learning facility, wanted to reduce travel time, costs, and carbon emissions without sacrificing the quality of face-to-face collaboration. Working with IVCi, GE looked for a way to bring remote executives and subject-matter experts into high-impact meetings and training sessions without requiring them to travel to the campus.

IVCi designed and installed a custom Cisco TelePresence solution in Crotonville’s Lyceum conference room, integrating HD displays, multiple cameras, a flexible audio system, and centralized Crestron control to support up to 60 participants in a multipurpose telepresence environment. The result was a highly realistic meeting experience that improved remote collaboration, supported executive council meetings and training, and helped GE reduce international travel—saving an estimated $30,000 and 6,294 pounds of CO2 for a single trip from Asia.
