Constellation Energy Uses Video Conferencing to Facilitate Training at its Nuclear Power Plants

Constellation Energy, one of the nation’s largest energy providers, needed a more efficient way to train employees across its three nuclear power plants in Maryland and New York. To reduce travel, improve consistency, and support safety and sustainability goals, the company turned to IVCi for video conferencing and audio visual solutions that could connect trainers and staff in real time.

IVCi designed and installed standardized distance learning rooms at each plant, each equipped with HD video conferencing codecs, cameras, displays, microphones, document cameras, AMX touch controls, and bridge access. The result was a virtual classroom that enabled one instructor to train all three sites simultaneously, cutting duplicate sessions and travel. Constellation Energy reported rapid ROI, with the cost of a room potentially paying for itself in the first year, and the program expanded to 95 video systems supporting training and collaboration across the company.
