A IVCi Case Study
St. John’s University’s College of Professional Studies wanted to create a flexible, modern laboratory environment at its Queens campus that could support experiential learning, collaborative teaching, and cutting-edge professional technologies. The university needed an infrastructure that could adapt over time, integrate advanced tools like the ETC Advanced Disaster Management Simulator, and make it easy to share content across multiple rooms while supporting hybrid learning and BYOD use.
IVCi designed and implemented a shared audiovisual network using technologies such as Crestron DigitalMedia and Control, Dante audio with Biamp Tesira servers, Cisco SX80, Vaddio AV Bridges, and large Samsung displays. The solution lets the university push content from any source to any display across the labs, enables overflow between rooms, and supports seamless collaboration for students and faculty. As a result, St. John’s gained a highly flexible, real-world learning space with 23 connected large screens and a system that supports independent or combined room use for lectures, videoconferencing, and hands-on training.
