Windows 10 Migration in Hours, Not Months for CyFair ISD

Cypress-Fairbanks Independent School District, one of Texas’s largest districts managing roughly 70,000 desktops and laptops across more than 100 sites, was struggling with an endpoint management solution that relied on user “pull” updates, had unreliable remote control, and forced technicians into time-consuming on-site visits. After an RFP, the district selected Ivanti and its Ivanti Secure User Management Suite (including Ivanti Management Suite, Security Suite, Data Analytics, Mobility Manager and Xtraction) to address patching, software deployment, inventory and remote management needs.

Ivanti virtualized the solution across nine servers to scale to 100,000 devices and enabled CFISD to reimage and migrate 65,000+ machines—including moving 60% of student laptops to Windows 10—completing the rollout a week ahead of schedule. The Ivanti deployment automated overnight updates (touching 4,000 machines without visits), improved login speed 10–20x, sped remote fixes from half-hour drives to minutes, and is projected to save hundreds of person-days per year while cutting travel costs and improving compliance and user satisfaction.
