A Ivanti Case Study
The University of Southern Queensland, led by Naomi Lutvey in ICT Services, faced a rapid shift to remote work when COVID-19 hit and had already been moving off HEAT Classic to Ivanti Service Manager in the cloud. They needed a central portal and service forms for faculty and staff, and critically had to patch, configure, and manage endpoints remotely without relying on VPN — a capability they did not yet have with Ivanti Endpoint Manager.
Ivanti, with partner Fusion5, helped deploy Ivanti Service Manager and rapidly roll out the Ivanti Endpoint Manager agent to about 2,600 staff devices within two weeks, enabling patching and remote management before mass remote work began; the university has since signed an Ivanti Enterprise License Agreement to broaden use. The result was a consolidated self-service portal, faster support workflows, and the foundation to automate software requests and installs for on- and off-campus devices, avoiding major disruption during the pandemic.
