UMC Health System, a 500‑bed academic teaching hospital in Lubbock, Texas with 4,800 employees and thousands of external users, was hampered by paper‑driven, siloed HR and IT processes that made clinician onboarding and offboarding slow and error‑prone—creating compliance and patient‑safety risks and routinely taking two to three weeks to provision access. To modernize identity and access management, UMC Health System selected Ivanti and its Ivanti Identity Director product.

Ivanti implemented automated, attribute‑based provisioning, deprovisioning, workflows and self‑service to streamline account lifecycle and access to over 300 applications, including automated Cerner EHR provisioning. As a result, Ivanti helped UMC Health System cut onboarding steps from seven to five and reduce average provisioning time from two–three weeks to just two days, accelerating clinician access to patient records and strengthening compliance.
