TaylorMade Drives Warehouse Productivity with Voice-Enabled Picking

TaylorMade, a Carlsbad-based manufacturer of golf equipment and apparel, faced profitability pressure from an inefficient, error-prone order-picking process that hurt productivity and customer service. Seeking voice-enabled picking, TaylorMade evaluated options and—working with RESOURCE Supply Chain Solutions—selected Ivanti and its solutions, including Ivanti Speakeasy along with Ivanti Terminal Emulation and Ivanti Avalanche, to modernize warehouse operations without overhauling the warehouse management system.

Ivanti implemented Speakeasy as a client-side voice solution (used with wearable Zebra mobile computers) in about two weeks, enabling hands-free picking and device management via Terminal Emulation and Avalanche. The results were dramatic: transactions per hour jumped from 41 to 184, error rates fell from roughly 40–50% to about 1%, headcount for picking dropped from 20–25 to 14–16, and repetitive-strain injuries and training time decreased—delivering faster order fulfillment and improved profitability for TaylorMade.
