Provincie Groningen, the provincial government of Groningen in the Netherlands with 1,300 employees, faced slow, error-prone onboarding, change and offboarding processes driven by an outdated, custom “Data Warehouse” solution that required extensive manual account, mailbox, AD and application provisioning. Seeking automation and easier maintenance, they engaged Ivanti (with implementation support from IT-Value) to modernize identity and user-management.
Ivanti implemented Ivanti Identity Director—integrated with Ivanti Automation and the personnel administration system—creating accounts, mailboxes and passwords automatically and enabling automatic revocation of access on termination. The solution (with a full Dev/Test/Acceptance setup) now runs onboarding twice daily for all 1,300 staff (up from once), fully automates helpdesk checks, simplifies Citrix golden-image rollouts and Windows updates, and measurably reduced manual work while improving time-to-productivity and security.
