Region Midtjylland, Denmark’s second largest region, needed to modernise and standardise IT across its healthcare estate of 31,000 endpoints. Faced with manual OS migrations (from Windows XP to Windows 7), frequent profile corruption causing slow logons, and thousands of disparate applications, the region engaged Ivanti and adopted Ivanti DesktopNow to deliver a uniform, secure, and compliant desktop environment.

Ivanti rolled out DesktopNow in phases, centralising provisioning of OS, user personalization, files and settings and giving ICT a single view to resolve corrupt profiles. The solution enabled a smoother OS migration, faster Windows launch times, consolidation of apps (from ~3,000 to ~1,500), four-tier policy-driven access, automatic session management and a compliancy audit trail for elevated access — measurably reducing admin overhead while improving security and workstation availability for Region Midtjylland.
