A Ivanti Case Study
The Dallas Independent School District, supporting more than 1,000 Windows desktops, laptops and payment systems across 219 school sites, needed to keep cafeteria point-of-sale (POS) systems and administrative computers running smoothly so food service could feed thousands of students daily. Food Child Nutrition Services (FCNS) faced buggy imaging tools, a kludgy remote-control workflow that cost analysts 10–15 minutes per support session, and barriers to a Windows 10 rollout. To address these challenges the district turned to Ivanti and its client management product, Ivanti LANrev.
Ivanti implemented LANrev to provide integrated remote control, software packaging and distribution, automated patch management, imaging and asset inventory. The solution cut a FileMaker upgrade on 66 desktops from seven hours to about one hour, saved roughly 10 hours on a recent server update, enabled overnight lab and Windows 10 rollouts that formerly took weeks, and reduced per-machine support time by several minutes—resulting in faster fixes, fewer disruptions for cafeteria staff, improved security through patch automation, and more proactive IT management with Ivanti.
