Nornickel, a utility provider in remote Siberia that produces and distributes purified water and thermal and electric power, needed to prevent leaks of confidential information and secure hundreds of laptops, desktops, servers and mobile maintenance devices without degrading performance. To meet these requirements the company selected Ivanti and its Ivanti Device Control solution to extend protection to removable media, stem past breaches from untrusted applications, and maintain high reliability for critical services.

Ivanti implemented Device Control in 15 business days (agents configured in two days) and Nornickel reported protection of all managed workstations within 17 days; policy configuration now takes under five minutes. Ivanti’s solution gave centralized, role-based control and pre-set profile authorization to block unauthorized read/write access, enforce file-type and keyword restrictions, limit file copying and require encryption for removable media — reducing the risk of data leaks while minimizing user overhead.
