Mills & Reeve, a leading UK law firm with six offices and more than 900 staff, needed to roll out Citrix XenDesktop virtual desktops while overcoming the manual overhead of roaming profiles, lengthy per‑user OS upgrade tasks, and the challenge of persisting user data on non‑persistent VDI. To solve this, Mills & Reeve chose Ivanti and deployed Ivanti DesktopNow (powered by AppSense) to streamline personalization, profile persistence and policy control and improve user acceptance of the new desktop model.

Ivanti implemented DesktopNow alongside Citrix XenDesktop, creating automated logon scripts, profiling and centralized provisioning that allowed 100 users to switch on day one and the remaining 800+ over six months. The Ivanti solution cut support calls by around 35%, reduced individual logon times from several minutes to about one minute, simplified large upgrades (such as Office 2010), lowered IT overhead for the VDI rollout and improved productivity, compliance and reporting through granular management.
