A Ivanti Case Study
Kingston University, a major higher-education provider in SW London, needed to deliver IT services to students and staff anywhere — its goal of a “University without walls” — while simplifying dozens of vendor relationships, improving automation and securing a mixed cloud/physical server environment. To address this, CIO Simon Harrison partnered with Ivanti, deploying Ivanti Identity and Automation, Ivanti IT Service Management Solutions and Ivanti Patch for Windows Servers.
Ivanti enabled Kingston to stream software to campus labs, provide anywhere access to services, configure a flexible service desk, and automate patching and other routine tasks to strengthen security and free senior IT staff for strategic work. As a result, Kingston reduced reliance on multiple vendors, improved service responsiveness and security, and reclaimed staff time for education and research — benefits the university says have drawn interest from peer institutions.
