Bilfinger SE Client Management Ensures Efficient Use of Resources

Bilfinger, a global provider of technical, commercial and infrastructure services with nearly 800 subsidiaries, faced a time-consuming, error-prone mix of manual and point-solution software management that generated frequent on-site service requests. To centralize and automate client and server management, Bilfinger deployed Ivanti’s DSM (and plans to add other Ivanti modules and Ivanti Service Manager) to replace disparate tools and support rapid, standardized rollouts.

Ivanti’s DSM enabled gold-image deployment, drag-and-drop packaging, cloned pilot installs, selective patching, and zero-touch activation, cutting server configuration from two days to a few hours and reducing on-site support dramatically. As a result, two administrators now manage about 100 servers and 6,000 clients (with plans to scale to 35,000 clients and 2,500 servers), Bilfinger added 31,000 Ivanti licenses, and the company realized significant time and cost savings along with fewer service calls.
