Healthcare Services Provider, a full-service healthcare center in Southwest Iowa, was in the middle of a major two-year renovation project that included facility upgrades and a new orthopedic and sports medicine center. The organization wanted to reduce its reliance on physical servers, improve flexibility, and strengthen disaster recovery and redundancy. ITsavvy worked with the healthcare team to size the environment for current needs plus 2–3 years of growth, using EMC SAN storage, VMware, and HP servers.

ITsavvy designed, installed, and implemented the virtualization and storage upgrade, then supported a follow-on disaster recovery phase with secondary storage. The result was a much more resilient environment, with server counts growing from about 6–7 physical servers to nearly 30 virtual servers, helping deliver clear ROI and cost savings. The upgraded infrastructure also proved its value during a tornado, when the systems continued to perform seamlessly.
