XConnect, a global leader in federation-based IP multimedia interconnection and registry services, needed a single, flexible monitoring solution to replace Big Brother, Ganglia and Cacti and to provide end-to-end visibility across a complex, 24/7 VoIP estate of four primary and three secondary sites (about 250 devices and ~10,000 service checks, ~1,800 per minute). With zero downtime tolerance, redundant slave clustering and deep customization were mandatory, and no off‑the‑shelf tool met their requirements.

After evaluating competitors, XConnect upgraded from Opsview Community to Opsview Enterprise for its Nagios foundation, plugin access and clustering capabilities, then added custom development and checks to suit their environment. Deployment was fast and delivered richer telemetry, faster detection and resolution through proactive tests and event correlation, reducing incidents, easing partner support and cutting on‑call burden.
