VIP Mobile d.o.o., a Serbian mobile network operator and member of the Telekom Austria Group that serves customers across the region, faced the need to monitor roughly 550 devices across two data centers. They required an inexpensive, easy-to-deploy monitoring solution that could cover all layers of their IT estate — network equipment, SAN storage, servers, backups, databases, operating systems and web services — because their existing tool did not provide adequate oversight of applications and business services.

After evaluating options (including Nagios Core), VIP Mobile deployed Opsview Enterprise — a full installation completed in about three months. Opsview delivered greater functionality and ease of use, allowing them to expand from infrastructure monitoring to application monitoring on a single platform. As a result, IT now detects and identifies problems before the business reports them, enabling proactive fixes that minimize business impact.
