Triptych Technologies, a healthcare IT company, needed a more usable electronic health record system that better fit physicians’ workflows and supported telemedicine. Existing EHRs were often too generic, cumbersome, and slow for small practices, so Triptych partnered with Itransition to develop Sapiocare, a telemedicine-ready EHR with a strong focus on usability, compliance, and faster data entry.

Itransition designed and built the solution with features such as speech recognition, smartpen handwriting capture, clinical text analysis, patient and provider portals, and secure televisits. The result was a HIPAA- and ONC-oriented platform that streamlined scheduling, encounter notes, records access, messaging, and reporting; after more than a year of testing, Sapiocare showed stable quality metrics with no significant defect spikes or drops, and Development Version 1 was nearing completion.
