Otkritie Bank, one of Russia’s largest financial institutions, needed to modernize its core website for online promotion and remote servicing after rapid business growth and bank consolidations. Its previous contractor failed to meet quality, performance, and release deadlines, so the bank turned to Itransition and its web development expertise to rescue the project.

Itransition rebuilt and enhanced the Ruby on Rails website with a custom CMS, e-commerce and calculator modules, automation, monitoring, and refactored architecture, while also reorganizing delivery into agile workflows. The results included 10x fewer incidents, a reduction in major incidents from 12 to 2–3 per week, 26% higher system stability, 50 unique users per second after launch, 530 completed development tasks, and 1,462 unit tests per deploy.
