Case Study: The Oppenheimer Group achieves more efficient produce traceability with iTradeNetwork, Inc

A iTradeNetwork, Inc Case Study

Preview of the The Oppenheimer Group Case Study

Global Produce Distributor Uses The Advance Ship Notice For Efficiently Sharing Traceability Data

The Oppenheimer Group, a global fresh produce distributor, wanted to integrate Produce Traceability Initiative (PTI) best practices into its order fulfillment process and compare the Advance Ship Notice (ASN) with the Hybrid Pallet Label for sharing traceability data. It partnered with Safeway and iTradeNetwork, Inc. to pilot GS1-based traceability methods and determine the most efficient approach for managing GTIN and lot information.

iTradeNetwork, Inc. helped support EDI testing and ASN data exchange, enabling Oppenheimer to transmit shipment details in advance so buyers could match product to purchase orders before receipt. The pilot showed the ASN was more efficient than Hybrid Pallet Labels, reducing labeling and scanning labor, improving inventory visibility, eliminating missing-data errors, and delivering estimated annual savings of over $120,000 with ROI possible in as little as six months.
