Finotex, a Miami-based manufacturer of labels for apparel brands, needed a more cost-effective way to support its highly dispersed workforce after its Citrix and VMware contracts in a third-party datacenter neared end-of-life. With itopia, the company looked for a cloud-based alternative that could improve performance, reduce costs, and simplify management.

itopia helped Forthright migrate Finotex’s VDI workloads to Google Cloud Platform using itopia Cloud Automation Stack (CAS), replacing legacy VDI with Microsoft Remote Desktop Services and leveraging autoscaling, scheduled uptime, snapshots, and custom machine types. The move reduced hardware overhead and “Citrix bloat,” cut infrastructure costs by double-digit percentages, improved network performance, and made disaster recovery and ongoing optimization much easier.
