Cisco wanted to scale disruptive innovation across its global workforce and turn employee ideas into ventures that could help the company keep pace in a hyper-competitive digital market. To support this, Cisco used ITONICS Enterprise, a collaborative innovation platform, as the backbone for its company-wide Innovate Everywhere Challenge.

ITONICS enabled Cisco to run a four-phase innovation program from ideation to validation, funding, and build, with token-based employee participation, expert judging, and executive sponsorship. The results were strong: 36,600 employees from 89 countries took part, 769 ventures were submitted, more than 168,000 tokens were invested, and over 5,700 comments were made. Cisco’s program also won the Innovation Leader’s Impact Award, and the success led to 20 additional Cisco challenges using the ITONICS platform.
