Case Study: CVTrust achieves secure, mass-generated digital certificate issuance with iText 7

Smart Certificate 2.0 - Issue and share certified and trusted digital documents

CVTrust, a provider of a digital document issuance platform, needed to adapt their Smart Certificate infrastructure to use the GlobalSign API for digital signing. Their challenge was to integrate a new solution into their existing back-end that would extend their platform's capabilities and enable the mass generation of secured, digitally signed PDFs. To achieve this, they turned to the vendor iText and utilized iText 7.

The solution implemented by iText involved using iText 7 to mass generate unique PDF documents from templates and handle the programmatic addition of verified digital signatures via the GlobalSign API. This integration, which also included creating a blockchain hash for each document for enhanced security, was completed extremely smoothly with no additional support required. The result is the Smart Certificate 2.0 platform, which is now operational and currently produces approximately 500,000 trusted and verifiable documents annually for CVTrust.
