The Provincial Electricity Authority (PEA), a major government-owned electricity provider in Thailand, faced a significant challenge in its digital transformation. Its development team needed to digitally provide employee benefits for approximately 36,000 people through the new PEA Life app, which required the generation of data-driven documents and reports. An existing iText customer, PEA sought a more efficient solution for designing and generating these complex forms than a standard PDF library could provide and turned to vendor iText for a better solution.

iText provided its collaborative document solution, iText DITO, which enabled the PEA team to easily design, modify, and generate the required documents. The solution’s intuitive template designer and powerful data binding capabilities accelerated document creation, and its integration with iText's language technology ensured perfect rendering of the Thai script. The results included a significantly faster and easier template design process, with the PEA Life app successfully deployed in Q1 2021 and maintained by a small 8-person team that no longer required developer intervention for document template updates.
