Roots Software was selected to rebuild the Car-Pass platform, a Belgian non-profit agency that prevents odometer fraud, which was struggling with the performance and scalability of its legacy system for generating certificates. To meet the critical need for a faster, more reliable PDF generation tool that could handle high volumes, Roots Software implemented the iText PDF library as the solution.

Using iText, Roots Software achieved a tenfold improvement in document generation speed, reducing the time to produce a Car-Pass certificate from 900 milliseconds to under 90 milliseconds. The iText solution also managed footprint superbly, resulting in significant internet traffic savings. This performance enhancement was a key factor in allowing the project to be completed on time while meeting all of the client's critical requirements.
