eDoctrina automates grading across 1,000+ districts with Itera Research

Itera Research partnered with eDoctrina, an education technology platform, to address the challenge of manual and fragmented K-12 assessment grading. The process was time-consuming for teachers and administrators, involving repetitive data entry across different tools and the complexity of handling paper-based exams. This created delays, increased the likelihood of errors, and placed growing operational pressure on schools as eDoctrana expanded.

The solution implemented by Itera Research was an automated test checking system that integrated assessment creation, scanning, grading, and reporting into a single, AI-powered workflow. This included support for handwritten exams and the use of existing networked copiers as scanners. The results allowed eDoctrina to scale significantly, now supporting over one million users across more than 1,000 districts. The automation shortened grading cycles, improved scoring consistency, and enabled growth without a corresponding increase in administrative workload or staffing.
