TIS Transforms Space Exploration with itemit

Teachers in Space (TIS), a non-profit focused on STEM education, faced significant logistical challenges in managing its global CubeSat projects. They needed to track the diverse profiles and real-time locations of numerous student-designed miniature satellites as they traveled around the world before being launched into space, a task too complex for manual methods like spreadsheets. To address this, TIS partnered with the vendor itemit.

The solution implemented by itemit involved using its customizable asset tracking platform and robust anodised aluminium QR codes affixed to each CubeSat. This provided a unified system for all participants to update and access detailed asset profiles, real-time GPS locations, and project data. As a result, itemit automated TIS's tracking, saving time, reducing errors, and providing seamless data access for students and teachers, which directly supported the organization's mission to inspire the next generation in space exploration.
