Improving productivity at the Costa store of the future

ITAB partnered with Costa Coffee to help improve the store environment and service levels for its 'Store of the Future' concept. The challenge was to achieve greater operational efficiency and create a consistent, recognizable brand experience across a variety of store formats while also enhancing the consumer experience.

The solution involved a collaborative process where ITAB analyzed the existing operating model and developed a modular suite of components. By creating fixture prototypes to improve unitary ergonomics and equipment placement, ITAB enabled baristas to save 11 seconds per coffee served. This improved efficiency reduced consumer waiting time, increased throughput, and enhanced the overall brand experience for Costa.
