Preview of the H&M Case Study

H&M deliver sustainable retail with Smart Garment Collection Bins

The customer, H&M, sought to boost awareness and consumer engagement for its existing garment collection sustainability program. They partnered with the vendor, ITAB Group, to find a new, interactive way to make the donation process more exciting for shoppers and highlight their sustainability focus.

The solution implemented by ITAB was the development of Smart Garment Collection Bins. These interactive bins, featuring a screen and integrated scale, thank donors and display the weight of their contribution. Integrated with Microsoft Teams to alert staff when full, the bins also show the total amount of clothes collected to demonstrate impact. This ITAB solution has been rolled out to multiple major US cities with a goal to collect five million pounds of clothing, which will enable the planting of 100,000 trees.
