RocketRoute is a SaaS flight-planning service for European pilots that needed a native iOS application to let pilots plan, track routes on a map, generate flight plans and send them to authorities. IT Craft was engaged to build the iPhone and iPad clients and integrate them with RocketRoute’s server-side systems, using an iOS stack (iPhone SDK, Core Data, Xcode, Objective-C) and backend technologies (PHP, MySQL, Java) plus APIs such as Google Maps, Xero, TCPDF and wkHTMLtoPDF.

IT Craft delivered the native iOS app and server integration over a 3 man-year, time-and-materials engagement, enabling pilots to plan and track routes, generate compliant flight plans and submit them to authorities directly from mobile devices. The IT Craft-built solution produced fully integrated mobile clients (iPhone/iPad) and backend PDF/API workflows that operationalized RocketRoute’s SaaS capabilities for mobile users.
