Peakfactor GmbH, a Berlin startup that builds secure intranet systems for the biopharmaceutical industry, engaged IT Craft to deliver an MVP for its Network of Communities social intranet. The main challenge was a lack of clear requirements combined with the need to create a secure, scalable, multi‑client platform that supports branded communities, role‑based access, events, forums and global collaboration.

IT Craft performed business analysis and competitor research and built and evolved the product (Twig, AngularJS, Bootstrap, Composer, Grunt, MySQL 5.7) into a responsive, multi‑tenant enterprise intranet. IT Craft resolved search problems using PostgreSQL FTS/MySQL FTS/Sphinx/Elasticsearch, introduced plugin/module architecture for multi‑client support, refactored legacy code with autotests, improved frontend and adopted Scrum; the result is a secure, widely used Network of Communities with demonstrated production maturity and sustained investment (102,085 total hours; 14,693 BA/PM; 17,921 QA).
