Moomkin is a Kazakh startup building a hybrid professional social network that combines features of LinkedIn, Facebook and other social sites to help CIS professionals showcase skills, find jobs and connect with employers. After researching leading networks, Moomkin engaged IT Craft in 2010 to design and build a beta web platform and then expand it into a full-featured product tailored to the local market with modules for profiles, messaging, live chat, groups, events and a jobs portal.

IT Craft delivered the solution using PHP (Yii/Yii2), MySQL, Memcached, a Comet-based live chat, AJAX, HTML5/CSS3/Bootstrap, mobile APIs (Android/iOS), OAuth/social sharing, Authorize.NET and Adobe OCR. A core team of seven completed four months of intensive development (about 4,000 total hours) and multi-year support, producing modular features (user/search/wall/jobs/news/backend tools), live updates and a production-ready platform; IT Craft’s work led to successful beta testing, investor interest from Kazakhstan, Hungary and the US, and deployment of job-matching, webinar and payment capabilities.
