A Issuu Case Study

Mad Sounds - Customer Case Study

Mad Sounds is a bimonthly online and print magazine founded by Giselle Melendres in Davis, California that spotlights young creatives across fashion, design, music and more. Early on Giselle struggled to run the magazine alone—managing the website, social accounts, email and content while juggling school and a part‑time job—so Mad Sounds needed a way to scale its operations and find collaborators. Issuu (including its Issuu Generators community) served as the vendor and platform connecting her with other publishers and inspiration.

Using Issuu’s Generators and the Issuu Generators Camp, Giselle tapped the publisher community for advice, recruited interns and built a team of writers, photographers and contributors to share editorial, social and email duties. Issuu helped Mad Sounds gain resources, networking and practical guidance; the result is a staffed, more sustainable publication with expanded content and social presence, stronger collaborations and reader feedback that the magazine inspires new creative work.
