A iSpring Case Study
NLMK, Russia’s largest steelmaker producing over 13 million tons annually and employing about 55,000 people, faced the challenge of constantly upskilling a dispersed workforce, confirming annual competencies, and adopting new technologies while overcoming internal skepticism about e‑Learning and a clunky legacy LMS. The goal was to jump‑start a scalable, high‑quality digital training program that could reach thousands of frontline workers and foremen candidates without disrupting production.
NLMK built a small in‑house e‑Learning team, adopted iSpring Suite to produce SCORM courses, and created a searchable electronic knowledge base and blended talent pipeline (21 courses for foremen). In one year they developed 34 courses, launched gamified quizzes and internal PR to engage some 16,000 employees, and moved 20% of live lectures online. Results included a 50% reduction in learning time for key modules, lower coaching costs, and standardized, more accessible training across the company.
