Better and Faster Supplier Assessment at ProRail

ProRail, the company responsible for the rail network in the Netherlands, sought to improve its supplier assessment and procurement intelligence processes. The challenge was moving from a manual, difficult-to-maintain system using Excel to an automated solution for performance measurement and gaining clearer spending insights. To address this, ProRail partnered with vendor ISPnext to implement its Vendor Rating solution.

The solution from ISPnext automated ProRail's performance measurement, enabling them to send 600 surveys per quarter and automatically measure contract performance from SAP. This provided a complete 360-degree view of suppliers, including contracts, ratings, and spend data. The results included a more efficient and robust supplier assessment process, the ability to conduct double-sided performance measurements for better-informed conversations, and clear visual dashboards for interpreting spending by category to enable smarter purchasing.
