SCHOTT North America, an advanced optics manufacturer, faced an urgent IT challenge: aging PowerBuilder applications tied to a legacy IBM DB2 database and servers that needed to be migrated to a new Microsoft SQL Server. SCHOTT engaged Ispirer Systems and used the Ispirer MnMTK tool (plus Ispirer’s professional services) after discovering their DB2 version was too old for Microsoft’s migration tools and internal developers were unavailable.

Ispirer Systems used Ispirer MnMTK to migrate the database schema and data, then provided development services to convert and modify the PowerBuilder applications to work with SQL Server. The work was completed quickly, accurately, and professionally, and SCHOTT is now live on the new system with updated PB apps, having significantly reduced the time and effort required for a complex migration.
