An insurance service provider in Egypt, a part of one of the world's largest insurance organizations, needed to modernize a production system by migrating a legacy Informix 4GL desktop application to the web. The main challenge was the inherent difference in behavior between desktop and web applications, such as the loss of features like hotkeys. They partnered with Ispirer Systems, who used the Ispirer Toolkit for this project.

Ispirer Systems implemented a solution by first performing a Proof-of-Concept, converting 13,000 lines of code to ASP.NET Web Forms. They extended the capabilities of the Ispirer Toolkit to handle the conversion of the application's user interface and database statements. The successful PoC delivered a new ASP.NET application with identical functionality, proving Ispirer's solution was optimal for achieving successful results quickly and providing a ready-to-maintain web application.
