Canadian Tire Family of Businesses migrates 3,000 DB2 AS/400 tables to Oracle in 1.5 years with Ispirer Systems

Ispirer Systems worked with a clothing retailer that is a member of the Canadian Tire family of businesses. The customer, which operates about 400 stores across Canada, sought to migrate its stable IT infrastructure from IBM DB2 AS/400 databases to Oracle to enhance its efficiency. The massive project involved migrating 3 thousand tables, 1TB of data, and over 640,000 lines of code.

The solution from Ispirer Systems involved customizing and expanding the functionality of its Ispirer Toolkit, specifically the SQLWays Wizard, to meet the client's specific migration requirements. The client licensed the toolkit for a year and a half to complete the migration. Ispirer provided a solution that met the customer's objective at a reasonable cost, enabling them to reach their migration goal within the due timeframe.
