A IsoMetrix Case Study
Transnet Engineering engaged IsoMetrix to standardize and automate its fragmented EHS processes across eight business units, 132 depots and six factories after inconsistent ISO 14001/OHSAS 18001 practices produced widespread confusion and a high number of audit findings. Mirriam Tenyane, Divisional Executive: Compliance and Regulatory Affairs, led the initiative to centralize the EHS framework and selected IsoMetrix for its agility, dashboards and prior success within the Transnet group.
IsoMetrix was implemented over a 14‑month project (500 users, project cost USD 230,000) to automate document control, notifications, reporting and dashboards; reports that once took senior staff days are now instant. The result: audit findings fell from about 1,500 to ~90 (>90% improvement), external audit costs dropped from USD 1.2M to USD 274K (≈77% reduction), disabling injury frequency rates fell (e.g., from 1.02 in 2012 to 0.42 by March 2016), and the estimated ROI period was just 2–3 months following IsoMetrix adoption.
