IsoMetrix improves data collection and reporting for Impala Platinum Refineries

Impala Platinum Refineries, the refineries division of Implats with operations across South Africa, Zimbabwe and Canada, was struggling to manage vast amounts of environmental, health and safety (EHS) data using inefficient, manual methods. Safety & Environmental Manager Carina Burger found it difficult and time‑consuming to extract useful information, trends and reports from dispersed data silos despite a policy requiring all incidents and audits to be recorded. To address this, Impala Platinum Refineries selected IsoMetrix and its Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) software.

IsoMetrix implemented a centralized EHS system that standardised ground‑level data capture with required fields, provided intuitive dashboards, and let administrators manage settings without heavy IT support. The solution enabled fast reporting and trend analysis—reducing a task that previously took a week to just five minutes—and improved compliance reporting for ISO 14001 and ISO 45001, better data quality from sites, and quicker access to actionable safety insights.
