Pandora Sales Up With Island Pacific Smartstore Mobile Solution

PANDORA, the Copenhagen-based jewellery brand with rapid retail expansion in Australia and New Zealand, was struggling to serve surging customer demand during peak periods like Mother's Day, Valentine’s Day and the pre-Christmas season. Manual product-code entry at the counter caused slow transactions, long queues and occasional inaccuracies as store traffic grew across its company stores.

PANDORA trialled Island Pacific SmartStore on Apple iPods, integrating mobile POS with its existing system, retrained staff and redesigned in-store processes. The result was faster, more accurate sales on the shop floor—the flagship store processed over 75% of Mother's Day transactions on mobile devices and the 15-store trial saw sales rise by more than 30% year-on-year for the period. Queues disappeared, inventory accuracy and staff productivity improved, and PANDORA is expanding the roll-out as part of a wider omni-channel strategy.
