Extra eyes for protecting the nation’s electric grid

The Largest Nation’s Electric Grid Company, a major investor-owned power utility serving more than 5 million customers across 11 states, faced the ongoing challenge of protecting critical infrastructure from increasingly sophisticated cyber threats. To strengthen its defenses and support public safety, the company turned to IronNet and its Collective Defense approach, including the IronDefense network detection and response solution.

IronNet added behavioral analytics to the utility’s existing security stack, helping detect unknown threats based on malicious network behavior while enabling near-real-time threat sharing with sector peers and the U.S. government through IronDome. The result was a stronger, more collaborative defense model for the electric grid, with the company positioned as a key partner in advancing cross-sector cyber threat sharing and improving resilience across the utilities sector.
