Project Bucephalus - Customer Case Study

Project Bucephalus, an Australian FIRST Robotics Competition team focused on STEM education, faced the challenge of training new high-school students in CAD while working under tight 6-8 week build seasons and frequent student turnover. The team needed a design tool that was easy to learn, fast to use, and effective for collaborative robot development, and chose IronCAD for this purpose.

IronCAD helped Project Bucephalus streamline CAD training, speed up concept and prototype development, and catch subsystem issues earlier in the design process. With IronCAD, the team trained 16 new students in 2021, produced custom plans in the first week of development, won the Engineering Quality Award in 2021, and went on to win regional competitions in Australia and reach the finals at the World Championships in Houston.
