Zurich Group Germany, part of the Zurich Insurance Group, faced the challenge of consolidating and centralizing its extensive legacy archive of paper documents from multiple service centers and external storage locations across the country. To outsource this operation and ensure security and compliance, the insurance group selected Iron Mountain to provide a unified records management service.

Iron Mountain implemented a solution that included consolidating and cataloging millions of files into a central inventory and creating a bespoke email-based ordering system for retrievals. The results provided integrated access from a single source, with over 300 files retrieved monthly within a 24-hour service level. The secure, compliant process, which handles 85,000 boxes of documents, was so successful that Zurich extended its contract with Iron Mountain for another five years.
